I love action films, but until now, I never understood why they are so enticing to watch.
Action film is a film genre in which the protagonist is thrust into a series of events that typically involve violence and physical feats. The genre tends to feature a mostly resourceful hero struggling against incredible odds, which include life-threatening situations, a dangerous villain, or a pursuit that usually concludes in victory for the hero.
CONTENT:
Action films use fast-paced cuts to express intense scenes. The films tend to be easy to follow and relate to and are targeted at young adults through middle age men. This is because we want to relate to the protagonist. When watching an action film, most become invested and feel the same emotions as the protagonist. This film is marketed through captivating trailers and eye-catching posters.
EX: DIE HARD
Die Hard is a great example of Action because the protagonist is a badass who has to save many lives in an impossible situation. This film is intense and has moments where all is almost lost and where the viewer sympathizes with the protagonist.
EX: RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARC
Raiders of the lost arc is another example of an action film because it's filled with intense moments where the protagonist has to go through trials such as a snake pit. The mix of genres blends together to form a film that captivates and satisfies the viewer.
